About Mendi Singh
Mendi Singh is an internationally renowned Indian tabla virtuoso with over 40 years of experience in the music industry. A versatile percussionist, Mendi has performed on stages around the world alongside legendary artists such as Gary Barlow, Peter Gabriel, Pandit Shalil Shankar, Darius Brubeck, and Malkit Singh MBE. His career has taken him to iconic venues such as the O2 Arena in London, Etihad Stadium in Manchester, the Gandhi Stadium in India, and the Womad Festival.
Mendi’s journey began at the age of 3, studying tabla under the guidance of master teachers. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts (Honours) in Indian Tabla Music. With over 30 years of performance experience, Mendi has toured globally, sharing his expertise and passion for rhythm.
Mendi is also a dedicated educator, creating accessible and engaging tabla learning experiences for students of all levels. His highly-rated Beginner tabla course, The Ultimate Beginner Tabla Course (Parts 1, 2 & 3), available on Udemy, has reached a global audience, helping beginners master the art of tabla.
